This is the official introduction of Princess Phant.

She is a character in our AlbinoPhant story.  As the “Martha Stewart” of  AlbinoPhant, Princess Phant will see that you understand the party and have a good time while you are here.  She will be posting to the official AlbinoPhant blog, once it opens in the next few weeks.  She is responsible to see that party hosts look like a hero for finding a Party We Do online.

Here is her story:

Welcome to AlbinoPhant!
Allow me to introduce myself: my name is Princess Phant. I’m the daughter of King Thibaw of Burma, and I just love gifts and parties! My father knows this, which is why he’s put me in charge of presenting awards and making sure that your party is everything that you want it to be. So, if it’s OK with you, we’re going to be spending quite a bit of time together from now on…

Being a princess is not all about looking pretty and wearing jewels, you know. It’s also about parties. And gifts.

For years, now, I have attended solemn royal banquets and dances; I have worn the finest dresses and eaten the choicest meals; I have been given gifts from noble barons and handsome princes from all over the world. But sometimes it’s just all a bit too… well, stuffy. You know? And a princess likes to let her long, golden hair down sometimes.

Fortunately, my father is a good, kind man. He wants others to enjoy the pleasure of gift-giving and friendship as he does, and he also wants me, his beloved daughter, to have fun while performing my duties as a princess. So he lets me help with this sort of event. I suppose if this were America I’d be a party planner!

I will not only look out for players who deserve special recognition for their bantering skills and gift-buying prowess, but I will join in wherever I can. I know everything there is to know about this game by now! And I want to share my knowledge with you and help you to have the best AlbinoPhant experience imaginable. I’m here to make sure you and your guests have fun, and to give you advice and instructions if and when you need them.

Delighted to make your acquaintance. Let the party begin…

As the development team works hard on the REAL AlbinoPhant party site we continue to build some of the content that will enhance the party experience. We want you to take a look at our AlbinoPhant story and give your opinion.

The true history of white elephant giving is quite a bit different from what many believe.  White Elephants where the prized gifts of Siamese and Burmese royalty.  Our modern culture has mistakenly labeled things that have little value or that are useless as a white elephant.  That is wrong!

We have created a story that is close to actual white elephant history but with some twists to make the AlbinoPhant game more interesting.

This is a different world.

A world where mighty kings and beautiful princesses and sacred customs merge with a modern-day party like no other. A world where fun and friendship mingle with anticipation and atmosphere.

A world where royalty rubs shoulders with… well, you and me.

Welcome to AlbinoPhant: you’re going to love this party!

But first, a word of warning. Do not, under any circumstances, let King Thibaw hear you use the term “white elephant” in a disparaging tone.

Seriously.

Do you have any idea how valuable a white elephant is around these parts? To the kings of Burma and Siam, these sacred creatures have long been the most important members of the Royal Family. To mistreat a white elephant would be to bring disaster upon the kingdom; for a king’s white elephants to die would foretell the downfall of both king and country.

Does that sound like an exaggeration? Try telling that to Thibaw. Surely no royal white elephants in history can have received such extravagant care and devoted attention as those belonging to him… particularly his most prized and cherished elephant, Nibbana, who wears only the finest velvet robes, and dines from a golden trough while the sun sparkles and dances on the diamonds in his tusks.

If anything were to happen to Nibbana…

Well, you only have to look to the history books. King Mongkut of Siam would have been foolish to ignore the fact that his father and grandfather both died a very short time after the deaths of their white elephants. But King Mongkut was not a foolish man; and so it was that when his own white elephant became ill, he tenderly and devotedly nursed it back to health, thus prolonging his own life. That’s the sort of king you want, you see.

A gift of a royal white elephant is something to be treasured. It’s a sign of great favor – the king himself is presenting you with one of his most valuable possessions!  You will be the envy of everyone who knows you.
Throughout history, kings have sent out search parties to find these rare and priceless animals. They have presented them to other kings as marks of diplomacy. They have adorned them in royal finery and placed them in the care of only the most trusted senior officials. They have even fought over them.

Yes, Thibaw is extremely proud of his white elephants.

And more than that, he’s generous about awarding them to those he deems to be deserving of such an honor. Imagine the joy of receiving such a special gift from the king, presented to you by his beautiful daughter, Princess Phant!

So leave your faulty Western notions about white elephants behind you when you come into the presence of King Thibaw. When he presents you with a gift, there’s no way that this white elephant has just been hastily dug out of a dusty storage cupboard.

There are no recycled, unwanted items here – all in Thibaw’s kingdom know and respect this fine ancient tradition of giving thoughtful, meaningful gifts. After all, you know that’s what you’re going to receive. And if inspiration’s running low, you can always join the rest of the townsfolk at one of the special AlbinoPhant markets, where you can pick up a unique and fun gift to bring into the party. Be as proud as Thibaw is to be a part of this noble tradition of gift giving.

Respect it. Embrace it. And above all, enjoy it.
